Once the braces are removed, you will need retainers to keep your teeth in the same shape. If you do not put retainers after the braces, the teeth will naturally go back to their old shape, meaning all the efforts of the braces can be lost. And, you need to invest your time and money in the braces again. So, you might know the importance of the retainers now.
Retainer Instructions After Orthodontic Treatment
- 1- When we are taking your braces off, we will take a digital scan of your teeth. This way, we have an exact shape of your teeth so we can make retainers according to it.
- 2- Mostly, we use the plastic retainer that we make using 3d printers.
- 3- At first, you have to wear it for the whole day and take it off only when eating or brushing. But, after six months, we will have a look at them and will guide if you can put them only before sleep. And, if everything goes well from there so you can put them only for 1 to night and it will keep your teeth in shape
How to take care of your retainer
- 1- Taking care of retainers is easy. Simply clean them with a toothbrush or a hand soap after every use
- 2- wash it once a week with Retainer Bright.
- 3- To clean it with Retainer Bright, you need to put 1 tablet in the glass of warm water. Once you enter the tablet, it will start bubbling. Put the retainer in it. And, take it out after 15 mins. Soak it, and they are ready to use.
Some General Guidelines
- 1- When going to the restaurant, make sure to keep the retainers in the car. Most people forget it as they take them out for eating and leave it there. So, make sure you put them safely.
- 2- Dogs and children both like to chew it. So, if you have these at home, you need to be careful. Either keep that at height or with you. As leaving it any way can damage it. Keeping it in the box, which we provided, will help in keep it with you
- 3- When you visit us for a regular check, take them with you, we will have a look at them and will clean it
